Furthermore, Waston is calling for the sacking of Mike Meyer, director of South African Marine Coastal Management, who had the onerous responsibility of authorising the mass euthanasia. Ironically, Watson and his conservation organisation, decided not to participate in the rescue attempt at all, becuase there were apparently no protocols or equipment in place to ensure that the operation succeed. So, they held back and did nothing.

Hein Koegelenberg, CEO of La Motte, and Oscar Faulkes, of Cloof Wines, have responded by pointing out that the very focus of the South African Bioversity and Wine Initiative is to conserve and not break down.

Perhaps someone should check with the registar of companies to see if Mr Paul Watson has interests in the American wine industry.
