Wine Spectator reported on the online survey results which reveals that American women prefer red wine to white, drink it most often with meals and purchase wine according to the grape variety and price.
The global survey which Wine Spectator partnered, analysed the drinking habits of 4,300 women in France, Germany, Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States.
The survey showed that most women drink wine with meals and/or to relax at the end of the day and choose wine as their prefered drink because it goes well with food and forms part of a healthy balanced diet.
Globally women purchase wine from speciality wine shops but also from supermarkets and a to a small extent from online sites.
